The Janmanrega app makes it easy to view your job card, attendance, nearby assets and payment status — all in your language, anytime, anywhere right on your phone .

In this blog post, you'll learn how to use the Janmanrega mobile app step-by-step to track your MGNREGA wages, view work attendance, and confirm whether your wage payment has been deposited.

Step 1: Install the JANMANREGA Mobile App and Allow Location Access

First, download the JANMANREGA app from the Google Play Store on your mobile phone. After installation, the app will ask permission to access your device’s location.

Note: The app supports 12 languages, including English, Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Punjabi, Gujarati, Odia, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Urdu. Select the language you’re comfortable with and proceed.

Step 2: Open the Janmanrega App

Once you open the Janmanrega app, the home screen will display multiple features for MGNREGA workers like:

  • Know Worker's Attendance/Payments
  • Nearby Assets
  • Search Assets
  • Give Feedback
  • Permissible Works
  • Change Language

To view your NREGA job card payment details, tap the "Know Worker’s Attendance/Payments" option on the main screen.

Step 3: Janmanrega App Registration Before Accessing MGNREGA Payments

Before accessing the MGNREGS payment module, a warning message will appear stating, "Please register first to access this module." Click the "OK" button to proceed.

This means you must register in the app before accessing the MGNREGA workers' details, such as the attendance or payment information, if you're using the app for the first time.

Step 4: Complete the Janmanrega App Registration Process

Once you click to register, the registration page will open. In this form, you must enter details like your Mobile number, Name, State, District, Block, or Mandal.

Next, you’ll be asked to select your User Type. You will see the following options:

  1. Government officials – if any government employee is accessing this
  2. MGNREGS Worker – workers under the MGNREGS scheme
  3. NGO Staff – if any NGO staff is using the app
  4. Solutioning and Implementing Partner – if any partner organization working on MGNREGS is accessing this.

Note: Since we are checking the Mahatma Gandhi NREGA payment status for workers, select the second option: “MGNREGA Worker.”

After that, set a 4-digit PIN of your choice — for example, 6284. This PIN will be required each time you log in to the app to check nrega labour payment.

Now, click on the Submit button. An OTP (One-Time Password) will be sent to your registered mobile number. Enter the 6-digit OTP in the space provided — for example, 402842 — and click Submit again.

Once the OTP is verified, you’ll see a message: “OTP matched successfully. Please submit this form" . Click on Submit one more time to complete the registration.

Finally, you’ll see a confirmation message: “User has been registered successfully.” Tap OK to proceed to the main dashboard of the JanmanREGA app.

Step 5: Check MGNREGS Worker’s Attendance and Payment Status

Once you complete registration in the JanmanREGA app, follow the steps below to check your MGNREGS job card holder details, attendance records, and payment details:

First, Enter Your PIN

Once you tap on "Know Worker’s Attendance/Payments", the app will first ask you to enter the 4-digit PIN you set during registration (e.g., 6284). After entering your PIN, you’ll see a screen like this one.

Fill the Required Details:

You can search worker details using either of the following two methods:

Option 1: By Location and Family ID

Fill in the dropdowns step-by-step:

State →District → Block → Panchayat → Village → Family ID

Option 2: Search Directly by Job Card Number

If you know your job card number, click the “Search by Job Card Number” button (blue in color). Then, enter the job card number to view your attendance and wage payment history.

Step 6: View MGNREGS Job Card, Attendance, Payment, and ABPS Details

After searching using either the Job Card Number or by selecting your location and Family ID, the JanmanREGA app will show multiple tabs: Job Card Summary, Attendance Details, Payment Status, and ABPS Verification.

Tap each tab to explore full information about the MGNREGS worker and household members.

๐Ÿ“… Number of Days Worked:

At the top, the app shows the total number of days worked under MGNREGS for the current financial year. For example: 26 days worked in FY 2025–2026.

๐Ÿ‘ฅ Household Member Details:

Under "Details of Applicants of the Household", you’ll see the names, gender, and age of all members linked to the job card.

Note: Applicants with a red asterisk (*) are deleted members. For example, Adilaxmi is marked as Applicant deleted.

(2). In the Attendance module

This module shows the total number of days all applicants have worked in this financial year.

It also gives the list of works, including work name and work code, for the current and the last financial year. you can see the muster roll number, date, and the attendance status for each work when you click on it.

(3). Payment module

The row displaying the applicant’s name shows the payment received in the current financial year.

By clicking on the worker's name, you can see the works for which the applicant has received payment in the current and the last financial year.

Here, we can see that it shows the work name, muster roll number, number of days worked, total wage, and the bank/post office account into which the payment has been credited, along with the credit date.

(4). ABPS Status

You can view the Aadhaar Enabled Payment System (ABPS) status for each applicant on the job card.

If you see green or blue ticks for Aadhaar linkage and verification, everything is set, and you won’t face issues like MGNREGA payment not received.

Note: In case you don’t understand the work details, there’s also a sound/speaker icon beside it. If you click on it, the app will read the work details in Telugu or English, depending on your preference, after loading the audio.

How to Search MGNREGA Job Card Number

Knowing MGNREGA job card number

If you don't know Job Card Number or Family ID, then click on this official MGNREGA portal link.

From this link, select your (1). State - (2). District- (3). Mandal - (4). Panchayat

After that, you can see the Gram Panchayat Reports section, then click on the "Job card/Employment Register" which is placed in the R1: Job Card/Registration section.

It will immediately display a list of all members' Job Card numbers from that village. If you look closely, the last six digits of each Job Card number are the Family ID (e.g. from this AP-01-1052-101-201/010006 number 010006 is the family ID).

Nearby Assets

The Nearby Assets feature uses a map to display MGNREGA work details around your location. You can:

  • View assets within a 20-meter to 5-kilometer range.
  • Check before-and-after photos of completed works, such as houses or roads.
  • Tap on map markers to see detailed information about each asset.

Search Assets

Under “Search Assets,” you can select your district, block, or panchayat to see what works are ongoing. If you click on a specific work, it’ll show details and photos.

Permissible Works

Here are the four main categories of works allowed. Those are:

  • Public Works Relating to Natural Resources Management
  • Individual Assets for Vulnerable Sections
  • Common Infrastructure for NRLM-Compliant Self-Help Groups
  • Rural Infrastructure such as Anganwadi Building, Toilet construction, cement roads etc.,

Give Feedback and File Complaints

Citizens can provide general feedback on completed MGNREGS assets if they're within 20 meters of the asset’s geotagged location.

Additionally, Workers can raise complaints about:

  • Work allocation delays
  • Work demand not fulfilled
  • Payment pending or incorrect
  • Any other job card or wage-related issue

The app forwards these complaints to block, district, and state-level officials for timely resolution.
